Remember that starting your day with Circle Time is one of the most challenging and important times in the child’s day. This is the time to let the children know they can expect to be doing that day or week. Be sure to include a variety of activities that include songs, stories, finger plays, and plan opportunities for children to have interactive discussions, including participation in activities that build coordination through movement.
Did You Know ……
The idea for M&Ms came from the Spanish Civil War! As the story goes, on a trip to Spain, Forrest Mars Sr. met soldiers eating pellets of chocolate in a hard sugary coating, which prevented the chocolate from melting. Mr. Mars went home and invented M&Ms. They were first sold in 1941 and were very popular with our soldiers in World War II.
Time Management
Teachers who fail to plan…plan to fail. The best time to prepare is EARLY! There is no such thing as planning too far ahead. Planning EARLY eliminates 80% of your "time management", personal and organization problems and increases your quality of life. Work ahead – not behind. Make working ahead and early your "style". Toss "later" out of your vocabulary.
Musical Moments
Make "Wrist Jingles". Cut ribbon in 6-8" lengths. String 3 bells on to each ribbon, tying knots between the bells and at the end of each ribbon. Tie ribbons loosely around child’s wrists. Encourage the children to walk, run and jump – while listening to the bell sounds produced by their movement.
Inspiring Words
"Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons."
