Preschool Menorah
There are 8 candles for the 8 nights of Hanukkah and they are placed in the menorah from right to left. These make nice family gifts!
You will need:
8 glass jars all about the same size
One glass jar that's taller than all the rest
Mod Podge or make your own mixture of white glue and water.
Paint brushes
white, blue and yellow tissue paper torn or cut into small shapes
Newspapers to protect your work table
8 LED tea lights
Optional number stickers
Spread out some newspapers on your work space. Smooth out the wrinkles of your tissue paper. You can do this by hand. Cut up or tear a bunch of small squares and rectangles from your white tissue paper. Coat the jars with a layer of Mod Podge. Cover the jars with the white tissue paper. Overlap the shapes. Coat the jars again. Set them aside to dry.
Cut out the flames and candles from your yellow and blue tissue paper. They need to be large enough to fit on the jars from top to bottom. Mod Podge them to the jars. Set them aside to dry. Number the Menorah jars (candles) by placing a numbered sticker on each jar. Mod Podge the taller candle with the blue tissue paper with a white candle and yellow flame. This jar is the Shamash. It is the service candle. Finish each jar with another coat of Mod Podge. This will seal up the jars. Place your candles in the jars.
